Breanna Bean is a freelance editor born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. She kickstarted her editorial career at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic — while heavily pregnant with her second child — when she signed up for an online editing course with Proofreading Academy. She completed her final exam just hours after giving birth. You can read about her exciting journey on PA's Success Stories page:
After passing her exam with distinction and receiving her Certificate of Completion, Breanna was invited to work for Proofreading Academy's sister company Proofed Inc. From there she gained invaluable experience and learned she had a high aptitude for more intensive editing. She branched out on her own and started freelancing through Upwork, quickly rising to "Top Rated" and landing projects left and right. Her five-star reputation on the site got her noticed by a talent scout and she was invited to work as a copy editor for Bryant Street Publishing — an original-content publisher with Scribd Inc.!
Along with her whirlwind editing career, Breanna is a mixed-media artist and mother. She lives in the woods on Vashon Island with her partner, two children, shepsky dog, and orange tabby.
